Open Source Valley project in the Paris Region

Alexandre Zapolsky: Manager of the Open Source Valley Project, President of ASS2L, Association of the Companies in Open Source Services, CEO of LINAGORA (www.ouverture-paris-region.org) Marie Buhot-Launay, Paris Region Economic Development Agency, IT Project Manager(www.paris-region.com)

If you wish to pull off world-level deals, if you are seeking international exposure or funding for your R&D projects, do not miss this conference, where you will be informed of how you can get involved in Open Source Valley. The majority of the key open-source players can be found in the Paris Region. The high-performance public and private research centres (most of Objectweb members), the talented men and women (62,000 employees and 7,200 researchers in the IT sector) and influential companies (Linagora, Mandriva, Bull, Thales) rub shoulders with the major users (the French Finance Ministry, Orange, the Paris City Hall). Since 2006, an event known as 'Paris, Capitale du Libre' (www.paris-libre.org) has brought together the leading European open-source players to exchange opinions on the strategic, political and economic challenges of open-source software. This one-of-its-kind concentration has given birth to the idea of a world-level competitiveness cluster, baptised Open Source Valley.
